Will
My Insurance Cover This?
Most first tier health insurance providers cover pediatric prosthetics.
Instead of calling them yourself, though, you might consider calling
us or e-mailing us with your doctor's phone number. We will help
coordinate his/her prescription, with our proposed course of rehabilitation,
and send your insurance company a coherent step by step proposal.
We will also schedule a trip to come see you and perform an initial
evaluation of your child's needs.
What If I Have No Insurance?
There are private and sometimes public funding sources available.
Foundations, Service Clubs, Churches, Charitable Institutions and
so on. We work very hard to identify these sources and they appreciate
us in that they know every dime goes to the child's need with no
dilution. In many cases, Medicare and Medicaid will be applicable.
Why Doesn't My Doctor Know
About Pediatric Prosthetics Incorporated?
Many OB-Gyn doctors and Pediatricians practice for a lifetime without
ever seeing a child with a limb difference. The American Amputee
Coalition and John Hopkins Medical School numbers suggest only 1
in 10,000 children are born with a need for a prosthesis. Conversely,
Linda and Dan can both refer you to any number of great doctors
around the country who have been watching these kids grow. Any of
them would be delighted to discuss just about anything with you.
Also, our company name is new, (9-20-03). We have brought together
some of the finest pediatric prosthetists in the country, and our
stock only began trading publicly on November 7, 2003.
Pediatric Prosthetics Incorporated is the very first
private provider of prosthetics in the United States, solely focused
upon the unique needs of the little guys.
